Never in the history of the Human race have so many people existed using so much of Earth's precious and finite resources as if they were an infinite supply. The Earth, we now know, is not a bottomless sink for all our pollution and unless we all do something about it our children's and grandchildren's lives will be very much the poorer. Is this what anyone really wants?
